What Is a Dental Implant?

A dental implant is an artificial dental root, which is inserted into the jaw bone to replace a lost tooth. Prosthodontic restorations are fitted on the implants about two to ten weeks after implantation. Then, the treatment is completed, and the patient has a well-functioning complete dentition.

Types of Dental Implants

At present, about 100 dental implant systems have been approved in Germany. As a patient, you should be treated with a known, approved, reliable and biocompatible implant system (titanium grade 4), which has a longevity of many years! The Champions® implant, which was introduced to the market in 2006, is such a system: in 2015, over 50,000 implants have been successfully inserted and restored in Germany alone.

Market analysts estimate that more and more Champions implants will be inserted (in the MIMI® procedure) worldwide in the next years, since Champions® Implants GmbH is one of the few German dental implant manufacturers who has received the American FDA 510(K) approval for its products. Meanwhile, this implant type is placed in more than 50 countries in almost all continents.
